Today, there is alot of talk that Former Press Secretary Scott McClellan has a tell all book that is to be published soon.  This book apparently goes into great depth about the Bush Administration.  Here is what NPR is saying.   One of President Bush’s counselors is indicating that the book is “total crap.”  That is posted on CNN.  The White House is “puzzled.”

In the book, McClellan has said “I had allowed myself to be deceived into unknowingly passing along a falsehood,” he wrote. “It would ultimately prove fatal to my ability to serve the president effectively.”  Also, he said, “One of the worst disasters in our nation’s history became one of the biggest disasters in Bush’s presidency,” he wrote. “Katrina and the botched federal response to it would largely come to define Bush’s second term.”

Ok.  this was not a posting on Daily Kos.  It is so shocking!!!!!!!!!

Here is this blog’s opinion about this.  The phrase total crap can be used, but not as one of President Bush’s former advisors have indicated.   I think that Scott McClellan publishing this book  is total crap.  Now I have not read the book, but there are parts of it that are the typical sleeze tell all.   It is in the paradigm of what the publishers want.  Follow this:

Bush === Bad

Iraq=== We were lied to because of the Bush Administration

Karl Rove===Evil.

Now, I could have had some left-wing blockers write this.  Now, I am NOT a Bush Fan and think that his administration has been a failure.  But it is awfully Damn convenient that this happens now.   Like sticking a card in the ATM.  Scott McClellan’s press conferences were one of the most arrogant things I have seen.  My question is this, if it was so bad, why didn’t he quit?   Can’t come up with an answer.  Like I said,  it is total crap.

Oh Lord, it is commencement speech time again and dreadful person Phyllis Schlafly was to be awarded an honorary doctorate on Saturday at Washington University. In response, half of the graduating class turned their backs and many faculty just walked out.

Here is the Youtube:

She is quite frankly, very dreadful. However, as a massive protest, it appears that the Graduating class of 2007 is attacking a “little old lady.”

She did campaign heavily against The Equal Rights Amendment in the 1970’s which seems distant now. Now People are making strides in equality. Some may view her as quite libertarian. America do not believe it!

Some of the things that have been said are from La-La Land or something. Check this out…

Got that. It is just bizarre, and she does have the right to her opinions, but when there is a platform, where she is given substantial influence about American discourse, it causes concern.

However, given the actual situation at Washington University, it is surprising that Mrs Schlafly was granted an honorary doctorate. Her views are outdated and quite frankly, do not represent much of the American discourse. If ordinary people state the comments that are listed above, then they would isolate their friends and family quite quickly. It may be a symbolic measure to grant someone who has had influence ( Which Mrs Schlafly has had), but it is symbolism, not substance.

Things must be rough over there in Indiana May 7, 2008

During yesterday’s primary, there was a news article that was labeled Nuns with dated ID turned away at polls. This is from the recent supreme court decision that you need to show ID at the polling place. In the article, it noted that these sisters were in their 80s and 90s. 80 and 90 year old nuns have no reason to have a valid drivers license. They showed a passport but that was considered unacceptable. Voter fraud is an issue, but a group of nuns? Seriously? You know, that is just wrong and a sign of the times in this current political climate. When you are disenfranchising nuns, that is just wrong. What tops it is what came from the Indiana Secretary of State Late Tuesday, Secretary of State Todd Rokita was unapologetic.

“Indiana’s Voter ID Law applies to everyone. From all accounts that we’ve heard, the sisters were aware of the photo ID requirements and chose not to follow them,” he said in a statement released by his office.

WOW! It might be Catholic guilt, but I have learned that you never cross a nun!

Thomas Friedman gets it completely wrong in his article Dumb as We Wanna Be, in Today’s NY Times.  The NY Times Reporter, typical pandering to people and talking down to others, illustrates how he completely misunderstands the McCain and Clinton proposal to suspend the Federal Gas Tax of 18.4 cents per gallon.  Obviously he is not concerned with making ends meet and pandering to the public.  The average family of a husband, wife and children.  Each Husband and Wife have a car that contains a 16 gallon tank, and fill up twice a week for the simple pleasure of going to work and activities with their children.  Simple Math if you are filling up a 16 gallon tank twice a week for 2 cars, that is 64 gallons of gas that is consumed per week, or 256 gallons per month.  256 gallons multiplied by 18.4 cents per gallon is $48 per month.  That may sound small to a highly paid columnist like Mr Friedman, but to the average American family, it may be the difference between being in and not being in default.

He illustrates that Government is fighting over renewables, which I support renewable forms of energy.  However, he panders and talks that the leadership “refused to get all the adults together in a room and work out a compromise.”  First of All, that is condescending, but this is an election year and few key pieces of legislation are typically completed.   He illustrated that other nations are getting involved and making the investment, but their economy’s have not had the dramatic impact of the housing crisis.   Then he ties it together & indicates that 100,000 new jobs would be created.  Not necessarily true and sounds like campaign spin.  Until you really know, and understand if our people have the skills necessary, can you make that assumption.

Barack Obama’s Bitterness on an overall spectrum April 15, 2008

Well, it was bound to happen eventually, Barack Obama officially fumbled and was off message last week when he indicated that “It’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or antitrade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations” during an event in San Francisco. In today’s NYTimes, one of their columnist indicates there is racial undertones present. Personally, I believe that it is more simpler than that. Many, Many Americans are finding it difficult in challanging economic times not to be angry. There was a poll that was conducted that 81% of the American electorate believes that the nation is in the wrong direction. Everyone is talking about how much gasoline has increased, how much food prices have increased, how much utilities have increased. They see their investments deflating, jobs being offsourced. They see their friends going thru the same thing. This is not believe that it is a “working class” thing but what is present regardless of socioeconomic status.

Lou Dobbs, on his nightly program, states that there is “A War on the Middle Class.” I partly agree. People are frustrated and wanted to just know why. Questions of “Why is this happening to me?” And, they want someone/something to blame, whether it be the Government, illegal immigration, or trade policies.

Barack Obama was politically stupid to make this statement because it appears that he is completely out of touch with the American electorate. Plus, he is apparently out of touch. Americans are NOT domestic simpletons that cling to God and Guns. They need leadership and resolve.

There has been a comment that has been all OVER the place yesterday. The phrase of “elitist” was prevelant. There were many that believe that Barack Obama, by making the stupid comments, is an elitist. However, America, do not buy it. This is a divide and conquer strategy used to distract people from the real issues. The GOP has to present a solution that is different than what they have produced thru the leadership of President Bush. They haven’t. The Democratic Party needs to present something that will captivate and motivate. They have not. Instead, we have stories about Pastors and some of the comments that they present, the “pimping” (Now this was stupid) of Chelsea Clinton, and so forth. What I would like to know is what are these people going to do or not do to change the quality of life of the American people and if those solutions simply do not work, then change them to a more libertarian approach.

Happy Tax Day everyone!!! Most have probably spent their refunds to survive. But, nonetheless, Happy Tax Day. I have also included the schedule of when people get their “economic stimulus” checks.This is the infamous Bi-Partisan “Economic Stimulus Act of 2008.” The interesting thing is that this does not truly impact the economy. This is not “free money.” This is an advance on your refund for when you file the 2008 return, and the bad part of all of this: IT IS PURE DEFICIT SPENDING. Many of us, will take the funds when they see it online in their accounts, go over to the billpay section of their banks website and pay something. In the act, there were some investment credits, but not enough to make a difference. It is exactly the same in theory as the Stimulus Acts that were done in 2001, and 1975. The net impact was that there was minor, if any stimulus to the economy.

There are two websites that the Sam Adams Alliance provides that is so useful in making educated decisions.

First, for Ballot initiatives, there is ballotpedia.org, a great resources for all those citizens initiatives that are always talked about.

The second, is more judge oriented. It is election time and we always hear about “judges who rule from the bench” and an “activist judge.” Judgepedia.org is a resource that has a goal of being a resource on a state and federal level. There are also other resources that are always interesting. Check it out!

Hello World. I am Baxter’s Brother and I am a C-SPAN Addict (Hi Baxter’s Brother). Anyway, there are alot of things on C-span.org. It is addicting. Now many non-politico’s say “Oh C-SPAN, you mean hearings, HOW DREADFUL!” You just want to say, “Look Media stuge, C-SPAN helps those who want to want to think on their own.” But you don’t. Want something to see what is interesting: Check out Q&A here. Love Books, Over the weekend, BookTV.org has alot of interesting authors on C-SPAN. It is a great resource. I think what really hooked me was in 2000 where I got to see what an Actual Iowa Caucus was. Here are regular people, with their own problems, hopes and dreams, coming together to see who would be the best candidate. They talk issues with no spin. No screaming and shouting & they respect each other. The young (God did I just say that) activists who are so passionate get involved. I remember in 2000 or 2004, a Kucinich supporter could not get a group together and literally cursed on TV. It was shocking, but shows how passionate people are and it is definitely humbling compared to some of the political shouting that happens today. ENJOY.
